Foundation students will experience a time of play and investigation into the art area of painting and self-expression. They will use paint to explore different painting techniques using their hands and other tools. They will experiment with found objects and select the most suitable to express their ideas. Students will have opportunities to share their experiences and their discoveries.
Year 1 and 2 students will play with and investigate paint and painting tools, building on previous painting experiences. They will explore ideas, experiences and their imaginations. Students will have opportunities to share their experiences and their discoveries.
Year 3 and 4 students will plan and make a stick puppet. They will explore skills, techniques and processes required to make their puppets, including papier mache, assembling of elements and painting. Students will express personal and group ideas which will culminate in a puppet show performance for their peers and school community.
Year 5 and 6 students will plan and make a cone puppet. They will build on previous experiences in construction. Students will use a paper mix medium to make their puppet heads and apply known skills to assemble the various elements of their puppets. They will express personal and group ideas which will culminate in a puppet show performance for their peers and school community.
